Welcome again to the Bough Digital team’s selection of the best blogs, articles, and opinion pieces from across the digital marketing industry in the last seven days. SEO Account Manager Saleem Rawn gets us started this week.
Saleem has chosen an article featured on Search Engine Watch looking specifically at content marketing. The article drills down into content marketing techniques that are going to succeed in 2014 and looks at how businesses and SEO agencies can go beyond the more basic techniques that everyone will be doing.
“This article provides some great content marketing techniques that SEO agencies can implement for various clients as well as great ideas for all businesses looking at SEO and digital marketing to try for themselves. With the SEO industry becoming a more content orientated sector, competition is rising in trying to obtain visits through the quality of content that is being created.”
SEO Account Manager Jack Withey has also gone for a Search Engine Watch article, this one looking at how webmasters and site owners can take advantage of link building on a budget. Importantly, it focuses on finding good links and doesn’t just tell you to pursue borderline black hat SEO tactics!
“Link building is becoming tougher and tougher and some companies feel that they can’t compete, choosing not to build links rather than look for new and creative ways to build the links that will enhance their presence online. However, this article gives some great insights into how you can create a great a link portfolio on a relatively small budget.”
Head of Content Karl Tippins has picked out an article on the Powered by Search blog. After months of analysis of what Google Hummingbird has and hasn’t changed, this article looks at somewhere there has been an impact and encourages all digital marketers to look again at how they can take advantage of local SEO.
“It’s great to see a piece of work like this that just talks about Google Hummingbird in a positive light and then gives the reader something they can take away and action. Despite the importance and power of local SEO becoming increasingly well known, many small businesses are still insisting on acquiring global dominance when they’d be far better suited pursuing local SEO goals instead. This article will hopefully encourage them to do this when put into context with Google Hummingbird.”
