In the past, many webmasters and site owners have looked to pursue PageRank (PR) as the focal point of their SEO activities. While chasing PR alone was never seen as a worthwhile approach, people are now asking whether PR matters at all.
Part of the reason questions are being asked is because Google haven’t updated PR since February 2013. Irrespective of that, it is debatable whether PR mattered, or matters, anyway. After all, PR only looks at the quality of backlinks that, while an important part of SEO, aren’t the only thing you should be working at achieving.
While a better PR is obviously a good indicator of site quality, it is something that you can achieve by following an excellent SEO strategy overall, rather than focusing solely on this one thing.
